This kayak/paddleboard tour focuses on the mangrove tunnels. While there will be some paddling in the open water, most of the tour is located in the extensive tunnel network. The launch location is hard to beat: We meet at Ted Sperling Park on Lido Key, close to Lido Beach, St. Armands Circle, and Downtown Sarasota We do a quick sandbar stop about mid-way through the tour. This is a great chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the views. This tour is filled with wildlife: birds, fish, invertebrates, and the chance to spot dolphins/manatees (seasonal and conditions permitting). Choose kayak or paddleboard: mixing kayaks and paddleboards in the same group is welcome! Small-group feel + local guides: relaxed pace, beginner-friendly instruction, and a safety-first approach

Q&A

Q: Do you have to be super fit to do this kayak tour, or is it beginner-friendly?

A: It's definitely beginner-friendly! The guides at SURFit USA are great and will give you all the tips you need. Most of the tour is in the mangrove tunnels, so you're not fighting open water the whole time. If you're worried about fitness, just take it slow and enjoy the scenery—there's no rush!

Q: What if the weather turns bad? Can you reschedule?

A: Yes! SURFit USA does have a flexible rescheduling policy, especially if the weather is questionable. It's best to call them directly if you’re concerned. They’ll keep you updated on conditions and help you find another time that works for you.

Q: What should we wear for the kayak/paddleboard tour?

A: Definitely wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting wet! Quick-dry clothes are ideal. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat; it can get sunny out there. Also, water shoes or sandals are a good idea since you'll be wading a bit at the sandbar.

Just booked the Lido Key Kayak Tour for my boyfriend's birthday!

I'm so excited for this kayak tour at Lido Key! We’ve been wanting to explore the mangrove tunnels. It sounds like such a cool way to see wildlife, and the sandbar stop should be a nice break. I picked the kayak option since I think it’ll be easier for us. Has anyone done this recently? Tips?

Thinking about getting the Lido Key Mangrove Tunnel Tour for my family.

Hey everyone! I’m considering this tour for our family trip to Sarasota. We have kids aged 8 and 12. Is this suitable for them? Also, how long does the tour usually last? I want to make sure they can handle it!
