Your guide, a former music biz insider and professional staff-songwriter for 3 major publishers, will give you a fun and informative in-depth and personal tour through the streets of downtown Nashville and Historic District, walking by iconic places like the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Ryman Auditorium, taking you into the historic Church Street area and Printer's Alley, Fort Nashborough, and then down the Honky Tonk Highway, from Category 10 on 2nd Ave, down to Legend's Corner and back down to 3rd and places like the Johnny Cash Museum, GooGoo's candy factory, Lainey Wilson's Bell Bottom's and Kid Rock's. Your guide can answer most any question about the establishments or historical buildings, and give recommendations centered on your likes and dislikes. These are day tours but can prepare you for a night out, and he can point out and recommend eateries as well. We also can cater the tour toward your personal interests. Just let us know when we talk prior to the tour!

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for this walking tour? Can kids join?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the tour, but I would recommend it for ages 10 and up since there's a lot of walking and historical info that might not resonate with younger kids. That said, younger ones are definitely welcome! Just make sure they can handle the pace. It’s a great way to introduce them to Nashville’s music history.

Q: What should I wear for this walking tour? Is it all outdoors?

A: You’ll mostly be outdoors, so definitely wear comfy shoes! The tour takes you through downtown, and you’ll want to be ready for some walking. Dress for the weather, but layers are usually a good idea. If you plan on going into any of the museums, check their policies—some require you to check bags.

Q: Can you reschedule if something comes up?

A: Yes! The vendor allows for rescheduling as long as you give them at least 24 hours' notice. It’s really flexible, which is nice—especially if you're visiting Nashville for a short time and things might change.

Thinking of gifting the Local Insider's Walking Tour in Nashville!

I’m considering this walking tour as a gift for my dad's birthday. He’s a huge country music fan and has never been to Nashville. I love that they customize the tour based on interests! Does anyone have experience with this? What should I expect?

Just did the Downtown Nashville Walking Tour and it was amazing!

I went on the Local Insider’s Walking Tour last week with some friends, and wow, it was worth every step! The guide was a former songwriter, so he dropped so many cool stories about the places we visited. We saw the Country Music Hall of Fame and even got to try some GooGoo Clusters! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Nashville!
