The crown of the day is a visit to Lower Antelope Canyon with a 1 mile hike with a Native American guide. This lower section of this corkscrew canyon requires a bit more effort but the reward is fewer visitors and a more intimate experience. The unique water and wind carved sandstone walls change color as the angle of light changes throughout the day. This portion of the canyon has a north/south orientation so light strikes some portion of the walls during most of the day. Your guide will talk about the formation of the slot canyon and offer suggestions for taking the best photos along the way.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour, and do they need a car seat?

A: Yes! Arizona law requires all kids eight years and younger to be in a car seat or booster seat during the tour. Just make sure to bring one if your kiddo fits that requirement. If your child is older, they should be fine sitting without one. The hike itself is pretty manageable for most kids, but the canyon can be a bit tricky in spots, so keep an eye on them!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule our tour?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can definitely reschedule your tour! Just make sure to contact the provider ahead of time, usually at least 24 hours, to coordinate. They’re pretty flexible and want you to have a great experience. That said, the canyon does look incredible with the right lighting, so I’d check the forecast before booking.

Q: What's the difficulty level of the hike in Lower Antelope Canyon?

A: The hike is moderate but definitely manageable for most people. It's about a mile long with some narrow spots and a bit of climbing. If you're in decent shape, you should be fine. Just wear good shoes and take your time. The views are totally worth it, and our guide was super helpful with tips along the way!

I’m taking my partner to Sedona for our anniversary and I booked the Lower Antelope Canyon tour! I’m super excited but a bit nervous about the hike. What should I wear? Is it really crowded? Any photo tips would be awesome too!

I’ve been thinking of getting this as a gift for my sister's birthday. I saw the tour includes a Native American guide, which sounds cool! How was the vibe? Did you feel rushed? I want her to have an unforgettable experience.
