Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on this rafting trip?

A: The Lower Pigeon River rafting trip is perfect for families since kids as young as 3 can join! It’s a gentle float trip, so it’s really suitable for little ones. Just make sure they can wear a properly fitting life jacket, which is provided. It’s a great intro to rafting for the kiddos!

Q: What should we wear for the rafting trip?

A: You’ll want to wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting wet! Quick-dry shorts or swimsuits are ideal, and don’t forget water shoes or sandals with straps. It can get a bit chilly on the water, so bringing a light jacket for afterward is a good idea.

Q: Is it easy to reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes! NOC has a flexible rescheduling policy in case of inclement weather. Just reach out to them directly, and they’ll help you find another date that works. They really want everyone to have a great experience, so they’re pretty understanding about changes.

Thinking about gifting the Lower Pigeon River rafting experience!

I'm considering this rafting trip for my sister's family who are visiting the Smokies next month. They have a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old. Has anyone done this? How fun is it for the little ones? Also, how long is the trip? I want to make sure it’s not too tiring for the kids!

Lower Pigeon River Rafting - Summer Fun!

Just got back from the Lower Pigeon and wow, what a fantastic trip! The views along the river were gorgeous, and the kids had a blast splashing in the water. I was surprised how well the guides kept everything fun and safe. Planning to go again next summer!
