Q&A
A: There's no strict minimum age, but kids should be able to walk comfortably for a few hours, especially in the caverns. Families often bring kids over 6, and there are lots of spots for photo ops. Just keep in mind that the caverns can be a bit chilly and dark, so prepare the kiddos for that!
A: Comfortable walking shoes are a must since you'll be doing some hiking and exploring. Dress in layers as it can be cooler in the mountains and warmer in the valleys. Don't forget a light jacket or sweater, especially for the bus ride and inside Luray Caverns which is much cooler!
A: If the weather looks bad, you can usually reschedule without any hassle. Just reach out to the tour provider a day in advance. They’re pretty flexible and want to make sure you have the best experience, especially for outdoor tours. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Thinking about the Luray Caverns tour for a birthday gift!
Hey everyone! I'm considering the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah tour for my friend's birthday next month. He loves nature and hasn't explored much outside D.C. I think he’d enjoy the scenic drive along Skyline Drive! Does anyone know if the caverns are really cool to see? And how long do we get to spend there?
Just got back from the tour – it was amazing!
I recently did the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah tour, and I can't recommend it enough! The guide was super knowledgeable, and the views along Skyline Drive were just incredible. The caverns themselves were like stepping into another world. We even saw a couple of really cool rock formations! Definitely wear good shoes for the walk. Anyone else have stories from this tour?
