Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for driving the UTVs on the Mahoney Lake tour?

A: Yes, drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license. If your gift recipient is younger, they can still join as a passenger! Just make sure they’re comfortable with the open-air ride since it can get bumpy.

Q: What should we wear for the UTV tour? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely dress in layers! The trails in Tongass can be muddy, so waterproof boots are a must. Bring a light jacket for wind and possible rain. They provide helmets, but a bandana can help with dust, too.

Q: What kind of food is served on the tour? Are there vegan options?

A: They serve a smokin' reindeer link on a warm bun or a cup of vegan chili, so there's something for everyone! It’s a great outdoor meal that hits the spot after all that off-roading. Plus, they have coffee and water available.

Just booked the Mahoney Lake UTV Tour for my mom's birthday!

I’m so excited! We’re heading out to Ketchikan next month, and I think this tour will be perfect. Mom loves adventure and the views in the Tongass are supposed to be stunning. Can anyone share their experience? How was the driving? I hope it’s not too hard!

What an epic day on the Mahoney Lake UTV Tour!

Just got back from the tour and wow, what a ride! The views were breathtaking, especially at Mahoney Lake. The UTVs were easy to handle and the guides were super chill. The lunch was delicious too—definitely recommend the reindeer link! Anyone else have fun stories from their adventures?
