Q&A
A: There's no specific age limit for the whale watching tour. It's family-friendly, so you can bring kids along! Just keep in mind that younger children may need extra supervision. Also, make sure they’re comfortable on the water, as it can get a bit bumpy out there. They usually recommend life jackets for kids, which are provided.
A: Dress in layers! It can be warm in Portland but chilly once you're out on the water. A light jacket and comfortable shoes are a must. If you have a waterproof jacket, bring that too, just in case. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen – it's easy to forget the sun when you’re surrounded by water!
A: If the weather looks bad, the tour usually gets rescheduled. They’ll contact you ahead of time if they need to cancel. You can typically reschedule with no extra fee, but it’s always good to check their policies when you book. Just keep an eye on the forecast as your date approaches!

Just got back from the whale watching tour in Portland – WOW!
I just went on the Maine Whale Watching Tour and it was beyond amazing! We saw a humpback whale breach and got super close to a pod of porpoises. The guides were super knowledgeable and made the experience even better. The boat had plenty of room and they provided bottled water, which was nice. Can’t believe how beautiful the coast looked too! Definitely worth the price. Anyone else done this?
Thinking of gifting the whale watching tour – any tips?
I'm considering getting the Maine Whale Watching Tour for my parents' anniversary. They love nature, but I don’t know if they’ll really enjoy being on a boat for hours. What do you all think? Is it a good gift for older folks? Any advice would be great!
