Q&A
A: Yes, the kayaks have a weight limit of about 400 lbs for safety reasons. This means two average adults can go without a problem, but if you're planning to take kids along, just be sure to check their combined weight. It's best to call Maui Kayaks if you have specific concerns about weight limits!
A: Definitely wear a swimsuit or something you don't mind getting wet! A rash guard is a good idea too if you want some sun protection. Don't forget reef-safe sunscreen to protect the marine life! Water shoes are helpful, especially when you're getting in and out of the kayaks.
A: Yes, Maui Kayaks allows you to reschedule if the weather conditions are unsafe. They monitor the weather closely, and if it looks bad, they will reach out to you to discuss options. It's good to have a backup date in mind just in case.

Just booked the Makena-Wailea Explorer Trip, super excited!
I just got this experience for my partner's birthday! The idea of kayaking in Turtle Town sounds amazing, and I can't wait to see the sea turtles and maybe some dolphins! I’ve heard the views along the coastline are stunning. I’m a little nervous about snorkeling, though. Any tips for a newbie like me?
Just did the Makena-Wailea Explorer Trip and WOW!
OMG, this trip was incredible! The guides were super chill and made us feel safe in the water. We saw so many turtles and the snorkeling at Fives Graves was just magical. Definitely bring a waterproof camera if you can! Worth every penny!
