Q&A
A: Yes, they generally recommend that kids be at least 5 years old to participate. It's a family-friendly tour, so younger kids can join but might need to be secured with a parent. Just check in with Maui Kayaks before booking to make sure everyone's comfortable.
A: Definitely wear a swimsuit since you'll be in and out of the water. Quick-dry clothes are great too, plus don't forget sunscreen! Water shoes or sandals that can get wet are a must, especially for the snorkeling part.
A: If the weather isn't suitable, Maui Kayaks will reschedule your tour for a different day. They'll typically notify you the day before, so be sure to keep your phone handy! They really prioritize safety and want everyone to have a good time.

Just did the Makena Whale Watching and Snorkel tour – Amazing!
I took the Makena Whale Watching and Snorkel tour last week and it was beyond cool! The guides were super knowledgeable and we actually saw a couple of humpback whales breaching! The snorkel spot was full of colorful fish and we even spotted a Green Sea Turtle. Don’t forget snacks and drinks; they provide some, but it was nice to have extra. Highly recommend this for a family outing or a memorable gift!
Considering gifting the Makena Whale Watching experience – any thoughts?
I’m thinking about giving this whale watching and snorkel experience to my parents for their anniversary. They love the ocean! I’m just a bit worried about how strenuous the kayaking might be for them since they’re not super active. Any advice?
