Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for the Manatee Encounter kayak adventure?

A: Yes, kids as young as 5 can join the adventure, but there's a weight limit of 60 lbs for the single kayaks. If your little one is under 12, they should paddle with an adult in the double kayak. Just make sure everyone wears life jackets, which are provided!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day I book?

A: If the weather's looking sketchy, they’ll usually contact you a day in advance to reschedule. They want everyone to have a great time with clear skies! Just keep an eye on your email as the date approaches.

Q: How's the parking situation at the location?

A: There’s a parking lot right by the launch point, but it can fill up fast on weekends. I’d suggest arriving at least 30 minutes early to score a good spot. If that lot's full, you might need to park on the street, so keep an eye out!

Thinking of gifting the Manatee Encounter experience - any tips?

Hey everyone! I’m considering giving my partner this kayak adventure in Fort Lauderdale. They love nature, and I think seeing manatees would be super special! Just curious if it's worth it, especially if the manatees don’t always show up. How was your experience with the guides? What should I know?

Just got back from the Manatee Encounter - wow!

I just did the kayak tour last weekend, and it was incredible! We saw so many birds and even a couple of dolphins. The guides are super friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to bring sunscreen and water. It was hot out there, but the shaded mangroves were a nice break. Highly recommend it as a gift for nature lovers!
