Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the manta ray night snorkel? Is it chilly out there?

A: You'll want to wear something comfortable and maybe a swimsuit under a light wetsuit or rash guard. It can get a bit breezy on the boat, so a light jacket is a good idea too! They provide snorkeling gear, but bringing your own is totally fine if you prefer that. Just make sure to wear something that dries quickly because you'll get wet!

Q: What’s the maximum age limit for kids on this dive? Can my 10-year-old join?

A: Yes, kids can join the experience! It’s generally great for ages 10 and up, as long as they're comfortable in the water. Just make sure they're good swimmers and can handle the gear. The crew is super helpful, but it's important to have an adult with them in the water!

Q: How strict are they about rescheduling? What if the weather is bad?

A: They’re pretty flexible! If the weather looks bad, they will inform you ahead of time and allow you to reschedule without any penalties. Just give them a call or email, and they’ll work it out. They care about safety first, so they won’t take the boat out if it’s not safe.

Just got back from the Manta Ray night snorkel! INCREDIBLE!

I did the Manta Ray night snorkel with Torpedo Tours last week, and wow, what an experience! There were only 10 of us, which felt so much more personal than those bigger tours. The crew was amazing – super passionate and even had a cute puppy on board! We saw like 15 manta rays up close; they were just gliding underneath us. Totally worth the price, and the snacks were a nice touch too! Highly recommend it for anyone wanting to do something unique on the Big Island.

Thinking about gifting the Manta Ray experience, any thoughts?

I’m considering getting the Manta Ray night snorkel for my boyfriend's birthday. I’ve read some great reviews, but just a bit worried about the boat ride. How rocky is it? He’s not a strong swimmer, so I want to make sure he’ll be okay. Anyone have experience with this?
