The manta ray night snorkel was voted "One of the Top 10 Things To Do in Your Life" by the Travel Channel! Experience the Kona manta ray snorkel yourself and see what all the fuss is about. You'll journey only five minutes off Hawai'i Island's west coast to reach the snorkeling site. As the vessel's diving lights shine through the crystal-clear water, these gentle giants arrive to feed on plankton.  This is an event for those who are 7 years of age and up, have had previous snorkeling experience, and are confident swimming in the dark.

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for the Manta Ray Night Snorkel Tour?

A: The experience is for folks aged 7 and up! Just make sure they have some snorkeling experience and are okay swimming in the dark. If you're buying this for kids, it's best if they’re comfortable in the water since it can be a bit intimidating.

Q: What should we wear for the Manta Ray Night Snorkel?

A: Wear a swimsuit under your clothes and bring a light jacket because it can get chilly out on the boat after the sun goes down. The tour provides wetsuits, so you don't need to worry about that. Just make sure to wear something comfy and leave your valuables at home!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our tour?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, the tour company usually reschedules you. Be sure to check their cancellation policy when you book. They’re pretty flexible, but I’d recommend calling them just to confirm your date a day ahead!

Thinking about gifting the Manta Ray Night Snorkel – anyone done it?

I’m considering the Manta Ray Night Snorkel in Kona for my partner’s birthday. It looks amazing, but I’m a bit nervous about the whole snorkeling in the dark part. We’re both decent swimmers but never done anything like this before. Any tips or experiences you can share? It says you need to be confident in the water, but I want to make sure we’re prepared!

I did the Manta Ray Night Snorkel last month and it was honestly life-changing. The boat ride was fun, and when we got in the water, it felt like we were in a dream with all those manta rays gliding by. They were massive! Also, the homemade soup after was the best. I’m thinking of gifting this to my sister for her graduation. Has anyone else done that?
