Experience the true beauty of the Florida Keys backcountry, gorgeous shallow flats, and abundance of fish. Marathon the hub for fishing in the Keys, great beaches, shopping, and fantastic food. Knowing like the beautiful scenery, while experiencing the thrill of a chance to catch species such as Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook and the hard fighting Permit. Your tour is guided by a licensed Captain in a modern skiff or also called a flats boat. All the fishing rods and reels, right and left-handed and all the tackle you need, as well as all other necessities including safety equipment. Travelers that have enjoyed our fishing charters also have enjoyed The Turtle Hospital, a tour down Seven Mile Bridge or a beautiful sunset at Sombrero Beach.

Q: What's the age limit for kids on the backcountry fishing charter?

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's recommended for kids 6 and up. The captain is great with kids, and they provide all the fishing gear, which is perfect for little ones. Just make sure to bring sunscreen and snacks!

Q: What do we wear for a day out fishing in the Keys?

A: Lightweight, breathable clothes are best! I'd recommend wearing a hat and polarized sunglasses to protect from the sun and help see the fish. Also, don't forget sandals or shoes that can get wet since you'll be on the boat.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of our charter?

A: If the weather is really bad, the captain will usually contact you to reschedule. They want to keep everyone safe and have a good time! Just make sure to check the cancellation policy before booking.

Just went on the Marathon Backcountry Fishing Charter - what a blast!

I took my dad for his birthday and we had such a great time! The captain knew all the best spots and we caught a ton of fish, including some awesome Tarpon! The scenery was stunning. We even saw dolphins swimming nearby. Highly recommend if you’re in the Keys! Just make sure to book in advance.
