Let me introduce you to and guide you along the amazing gravel biking routes right in San Francisco and in the Marin Headlands. The headlands are across the Golden Gate Bridge and are the birthplace of mountain biking. Whether you are an experienced gravel cyclist or don't own a gravel bike, but are gravel curious, you will have a great time as I will craft a route for you based on your skill level and fitness. The private tour will feature amazing vistas of the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco skyline. The ride can include challenging climbs, single-track, exhilarating downhills, wildlife sightings, a lunch refueling stop, and celebratory drinks at The Pelican Inn. If you don't own a gravel bike, I will coordinate renting a high-quality gravel bike. Check out our Instagram videos on @GravelGuideSF

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the gravel cycling tour? Can younger teens join?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but younger teens should be comfortable riding and able to handle some challenging terrain. It's a great experience for families, but just make sure they have some prior biking experience! The guide can adjust the route to fit their skill level.

Q: What do I need to wear for the tour? Any recommendations?

A: Definitely wear comfortable biking clothes that can handle some dirt and dust! I'd recommend moisture-wicking fabrics and good padded shorts. Don't forget a helmet and layers since it can get windy in Marin. And bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!

Q: How hard is the ride? I’m not in great shape but want to give this as a gift.

A: The difficulty can vary based on the route, so it's perfect for all skill levels! The guide customizes it based on fitness levels, so if you’re worried, just let them know when you book. There are plenty of downhill sections and breaks to enjoy the views, too!

Just did the Marin Headlands Gravel Tour and WOW!

I went on this cycling tour last weekend and it was incredible! The views of the Golden Gate and the Pacific were just breathtaking. The guide was super helpful and tailored the route to fit my level, which I really appreciated. We stopped for a delicious lunch at The Pelican Inn, and they had a fantastic drink selection for post-ride celebrations. I’d totally recommend this for anyone looking for a fun day out or even as a gift for a friend!

Thinking of gifting the Marin Gravel Tour, any thoughts?

I’m considering this gravel cycling tour as a birthday gift for my boyfriend who loves cycling but hasn’t tried gravel yet. I’m a bit worried about the logistics, like parking and how to get to the meeting point. Has anyone done this?
