Tour apx time is 5-6 hr. Max 4 ppl. Price is per person. Originally inhabited by the Wampanoag people, Martha's Vineyard was known in the Massachusett language as Noepe, or "land amid the streams". In 1642, the Wampanoag numbered somewhere around 3,000 on the island. By 1764, that number had dropped to 313.[10] A smaller island to the south was named "Martha's Vineyard" by the English explorer Bartholomew Gosnold, who sailed to the island in 1602. The name was later transferred to the main island. It is the eighth-oldest surviving English place-name in the United States. English settlement began with the purchase of Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and the Elizabeth Islands by Thomas Mayhew of Watertown, Massachusetts from two English "owners". He had friendly relations with the Wampanoags on the island, in part because he was careful to honor their land rights. His son, also named Thomas Mayhew, began the first English settlement in 1642 at Great Harbor (later Edgartown, Massachusetts)

Q: What's the best time of year to go on the Martha's Vineyard tour? Is there a lot to see in winter?

A: Summer and early fall are definitely the best times for the Martha's Vineyard tour. The weather is warm, and you'll get to see the beautiful beaches and lush landscapes. Q: Is lunch included in the tour? What kind of food do they serve?

A: Yep, lunch is included in the Martha's Vineyard tour! The meals typically feature local seafood and fresh, seasonal ingredients. You can expect delicious options like lobster rolls or fresh salads, but they usually ask about dietary restrictions in advance to accommodate. Just let them know when you book!

Q: Are there age limits for this tour? Can kids join?

A: Great question! The Martha's Vineyard tour is suitable for all ages. Kids are welcome, and many families take this tour together. Just remember to bring things to keep younger children entertained, especially if they get restless during the longer stops. It’s a fantastic way to explore the island as a family!

Just booked the Martha's Vineyard tour! So excited!

I finally decided to book the full day tour with lunch for my partner's birthday next month! I’ve heard so many great things about Martha's Vineyard. The fact that lunch is included makes it even better, since we both love seafood! I just hope the weather cooperates. Has anyone gone recently? Any tips?

Anyone had the Martha's Vineyard full day tour with lunch?

I’m considering getting this experience for my parents' anniversary. They love history and good food. I read that it's about 5-6 hours long. Is it too much for older folks? Plus, how’s the food? Any recommendations?
