Q&A
A: Kids can definitely join the hike! There isn't a strict age limit, but I’d recommend it for ages 10 and up. They should be able to handle a moderate hike and have good balance. Just keep in mind that parental supervision is important, especially on the glacier itself!
A: You'll want to dress in layers! It can get chilly on the glacier, even in summer. They provide winter clothing if needed, but I’d suggest a good base layer, warm socks, and sturdy hiking boots. Don't forget a warm hat and gloves, too!
A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate! They’ll contact you if conditions are unsafe for hiking. Just make sure to give them a call as soon as you can to find another date that works for you. They’re pretty flexible about it.

Just did the Matanuska Glacier hike, and it was AMAZING!
I went on the Matanuska Glacier hike last weekend and it was unforgettable! The drive from Anchorage is beautiful, and our guide was super knowledgeable. The hike itself felt challenging but doable. We saw some incredible ice formations, and the lunch afterward with the glacier views was the perfect ending. Highly recommend it as a gift for anyone who loves the outdoors!
Shopping for a gift: Is the Matanuska Glacier hike worth it?
I’m thinking of getting this glacier hike experience for my partner’s birthday. They love hiking but have never hiked on a glacier. Is it really as amazing as it sounds? Any tips from those who've done it? How was the lunch?
