Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit, but I’d recommend kids be at least 8-10 years old to really enjoy it. The tour might be a bit strenuous for younger kids. Just keep in mind that they need to be able to walk over uneven ice and wear the gear they'll provide.
A: Dress in layers! It can be chilly on the glacier, especially in the morning. Wear waterproof boots and definitely bring gloves. The tour provider does give you ice cleats and helmets, but having a warm jacket is key. Just check the weather for the day before you go!
A: Yes! Greatland Adventures has a flexible rescheduling policy if the weather isn’t cooperating. Just make sure to call them ahead of time and they’ll help you find another date. They want everyone to have a great experience!

Just did the Matanuska Glacier tour—What a day!
I just got back from the Matanuska Glacier Summer Tour and wow, what an experience! The guides were so knowledgeable and kept us all safe as we trekked across the glacier. The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially the blue ice! Lunch was included, which was a nice touch after working up an appetite. Highly recommend this if you're looking for a unique gift or just a cool adventure. Just make sure you dress warm, it gets chilly out there.
Considering gifting the glacier tour—thoughts?
I want to gift the Matanuska Glacier tour to my partner for their birthday, but I'm worried about the logistics. Is parking easy to find in Anchorage? Also, how much walking is involved? I want to make sure it’s not too strenuous for them.
