Small group whale watching onboard our small group, smooth ride raft vessel. Native Hawaiian owned and voted TripAdvisors Traveler's Choice, Hawaii Ocean Rafting has been Maui’s original ocean experience for more than 30 years. Our small group tours make for a fun, family style experience. Although dolphins are protected in Hawaii and we do not approach them closer than federal regulations, they often approach our small vessel for closer and eye level dolphin encounters. Due to style of vessel, tour does not permit pregnant persons, persons with back or neck injuries or children under 3 years.

Q: Is there an age limit for the dolphin tour? My son is 4 and I’m not sure if he can join.

A: Unfortunately, kids under 3 years can't join the tour, so your 4-year-old would be fine! Just make sure he’s comfortable with the ocean and wear a life vest if he needs it. The crew is really great about making it safe and fun for kids!

Q: What should I wear for the dolphin watching tour? Any tips?

A: I'd recommend wearing a swimsuit under light clothes. You might get splashed, so quick-drying materials are best. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! It can get sunny out there.

Q: How does rescheduling work if the weather is bad?

A: If the weather isn’t cooperating, the tour provider will reach out and help you reschedule. They’re super flexible about it. Just make sure to keep an eye on the weather leading up to your booking!

Just did the dolphin watch tour in Maui - amazing experience!

I just got back from the Maui Eco-Raft dolphin tour and wow, it was worth every penny! The raft is small, so it felt super personal. We saw a bunch of dolphins swimming right next to us! The snacks were tasty too—loved the cookies! Just remember to wear sunscreen and hold on tight, it can be a bit bumpy at times. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Maui!
