Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this bike tour? I want to buy it for my 12-year-old son.

A: Yes, the Haleakala Day Bike Tour is perfect for older kids! They recommend participants be at least 12 years old, and your son should have no problem with the ride down. Just make sure he's comfortable on a bike and can handle the downhill. It's a great experience for families!

Q: What should I wear for the bike tour? Any recommendations?

A: I suggest wearing layers since it can be chilly at the top of Haleakala, especially early in the morning. Athletic wear and closed-toed shoes are a must! Also, a light jacket is a good idea for the start. You’ll warm up as you descend, but it’s better to be prepared for the cooler temps at the summit.

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can definitely reschedule the tour. Just contact Maui Mountain Riders ahead of time, and they’ll help you find another date. They’re generally pretty accommodating, especially since safety is key.

Just booked the Haleakala bike tour! What should I expect?

Hey everyone! I just bought the Haleakala Day Bike Tour for my partner's birthday next month. We’re both super excited but a little nervous about the whole downhill biking thing. I know it starts at 6,500 feet and goes to sea level, so any tips on what to expect would be awesome! Also, how's the ride? Any must-see spots along the way?

Thinking about gifting the Haleakala bike tour for Christmas!

I’m considering getting the Haleakala bike tour for my parents for Christmas. They love biking, but I’m not sure if they’re fit enough for a long ride. Has anyone done this with older folks? Any tips on how to make it enjoyable for them?
