Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for snorkeling gear on the catamaran?

A: The catamaran doesn't have a strict weight limit for snorkeling gear, but they do recommend being in good health and able to swim comfortably. If you're worried about gear, just let the crew know when you board, and they'll help you. It's a fun time, and they do their best to accommodate everyone!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather is bad, Calypso Charters will reschedule you for another day or provide a full refund. They keep an eye on conditions and prioritize safety. If you're booking as a gift, make sure to check the weather forecast as the date approaches!

Q: Do they provide wetsuits or is that something we need to bring?

A: Calypso provides top-quality snorkel gear and flotation devices, but wetsuits are not included. However, they do have rash guards if you want sun protection. I’d suggest bringing your own wetsuit if you're sensitive to cooler water, especially in the early morning!

Anyone else done the Maui Snorkeling Adventure? What a blast!

I just got back from the snorkeling tour to Molokini, and it was unreal! The marine life was amazing—saw some reef sharks and tons of colorful fish. The best part was the 'leap of faith' jump platform! It’s not too high, but such a thrill! Plus, the food was surprisingly good, especially those chocolate chip cookies. 😂 I’m thinking about gifting this experience to my sister’s family for Christmas. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Considering gifting the Molokini snorkeling experience, any tips?

I’m thinking of getting this snorkeling trip for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves the ocean! I’m curious about the best times to go—do they have morning or afternoon tours? Also, any recommendations for what to wear? Don’t want him to be uncomfortable while snorkeling!
