Q&A
A: The tour is generally suitable for kids aged 8 and up, but it's best to check with Steve beforehand. He loves sharing his passion with kids and often tailors the experience to make it engaging. Just ensure they’re comfortable around bees as there will be live hives!
A: Wear long sleeves and pants to protect against bee stings, just in case! Steve provides gloves and veils, so you don't need to worry about bringing those. Closed-toe shoes are also a must since you'll be outside in a rustic environment.
A: Steve usually monitors the weather closely. If conditions are unsafe, he’ll reschedule the tour. He’ll contact you at least a day in advance if there are any changes. They’re pretty flexible about finding a new time that works for you!

Just booked the Meet the Bees tour - any tips?
I’m so excited! I just booked the Meet the Bees Guided Apiary Tour in Santa Barbara for next month. I’m going with my sister who’s into gardening and loves honey. What should I expect? Any tips for the honey tasting? I hear there are different flavors we get to try!
Absolutely loved the beekeeping tour!
I took the Meet the Bees tour last week in Santa Barbara and it was an amazing experience! Steve was so passionate and shared so many cool stories about bees and their role in the ecosystem. Watching him open the hives was a thrill, and the honey tasting was out of this world—definitely try the orange blossom honey! Highly recommend as a gift or for anyone curious about nature!
