Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on this kayak tour? My son is 10 and loves outdoor adventures!

A: For the Mendenhall Lake Kayak Tour, kids need to be at least 8 years old to participate. Since your son is 10, he should be good to go! Just keep in mind that all kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The guides are super friendly and great with kids, so it’ll be a blast!

Q: How tough is the kayaking? I haven't done this before and I'm a bit anxious.

A: The kayaking on Mendenhall Lake is pretty beginner-friendly! The guides provide all the gear and basic instructions, and the two-person kayaks are stable. If you can paddle a bit and follow directions, you’ll be just fine. Plus, the scenery will keep your mind off any nerves!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Do they cancel the tour?

A: If the weather is really bad, they do have the right to cancel the tour for safety reasons. But they’ll contact you ahead of time if that happens. If it’s just a bit rainy, they usually go ahead as planned. You get full rain gear included, so you’ll be prepared for a wet adventure!

Just did the Mendenhall Lake Kayak Tour and WOW!

I went on the Mendenhall Lake Kayak Tour last week and I can’t recommend it enough! The guides were super knowledgeable and we got really close to the glacier. Seeing the icebergs up close while paddling was surreal. Plus, they provide all the rain gear, which was great since it drizzled a bit. We also had yummy snacks at the end. Perfect way to spend a day in Juneau!

Thinking of gifting the Mendenhall Kayak Tour for a birthday!

I’m considering this kayak tour for my friend’s birthday. She loves the outdoors and has never been to Alaska. What do you guys think? Is this tour suitable for a gift? I want her to have an unforgettable experience!
