Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the Mesa Verde tour? Is it mostly hiking or just walking?

A: You’ll want to wear comfortable hiking shoes since there’s some walking and a bit of hiking involved. I’d recommend breathable layers too, cause it can get warm during the day and cooler in the morning. A hat and sunscreen are also great ideas—especially if you’ll be out in the sun for a while!

Q: Can this tour accommodate kids, and if so, what age range is best?

A: Yes, this tour can be great for kids! There’s a ton of history to learn, and they’ll love exploring the cliff dwellings. I took my 10 and 12-year-olds and they were engaged the whole time. Just make sure they’re up for some light hiking—it's not too strenuous, but you want them to enjoy it!

Q: How do they handle cancellations due to weather? What’s the policy?

A: If the weather is really bad, they do offer to reschedule or give you a full refund. I had to reschedule mine due to rain, and they were super accommodating. Just make sure to check the forecast and plan ahead if you can!

Just booked the Mesa Verde tour! Anyone have tips?

Hey everyone! I just bought a full-day tour at Mesa Verde for next month. I’m super excited! I love history and hiking, so this seems perfect. I’m curious if anyone has recommendations on what to bring or what to expect in terms of the ranger-guided tours. I heard some parts can be pretty stunning!

Gifted the Mesa Verde tour to my parents!

I recently gifted the Mesa Verde tour to my parents for their anniversary, and they had an absolute blast! They couldn’t stop talking about the cliff dwellings and how knowledgeable the guide was. The lunch was a nice touch too! Has anyone else done this as a gift? I’m thinking of making it a yearly tradition, haha!
