Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for kids, but it’s best for children aged 6 and up who can walk around the gardens and stay engaged during the tour. They’ll love seeing the animals in the Stable Yards! Just keep in mind that toddlers might get restless, especially during the 45-minute museum tour.
A: Comfortable shoes are a must since you’ll be walking a lot around the gardens and the plantation. Dress for the weather; Charleston can be hot and humid so breathable clothes are ideal. Also, consider a hat and sunscreen if it's sunny. No need to be too formal for lunch; casual attire works great!
A: They usually run the tours rain or shine! However, some areas might be restricted during heavy rain. I went when it drizzled and most of it was still accessible. Just plan to bring an umbrella and wear waterproof shoes if needed. They also have indoor exhibits to explore!

Thinking of gifting the Middleton Place tour – any tips?
I’m considering getting my parents the Middleton Place tour for their anniversary. They love history and good food! The lunch menu sounds amazing, especially the shrimp & grits. Has anyone done this? What did you think about the gardens? I want to make sure it’s worth the price.
Just got back from Middleton Place, and OMG!
I can't recommend this tour enough! The bus ride was comfortable, and the guide was super informative. The gardens are breathtaking; especially loved the Butterfly Lakes! The lunch was soooo good too! I had the fried chicken and it was delicious. Perfect day out in Charleston!
