Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit for the floatplane tour, but kids need to be at least 2 years old and able to wear a seatbelt. It's a fantastic experience for families, just make sure your little ones can handle the flight duration and the views won't be overwhelming. Also, check with Taquan Air for any specific restrictions they might have!
A: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, Taquan Air will prioritize safety and may postpone the flight. They typically allow rescheduling for free, depending on availability. Just be sure to call ahead and keep an eye on the forecast. That's what we did, and it worked out great!
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get chilly at higher altitudes, even in summer. A light jacket or sweater is a good idea. Also, wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be getting in and out of the floatplane. Trust me, you don't want to be cold while trying to enjoy those stunning views!

Just did the floatplane tour over Misty Fjords, and WOW!
We just did the floatplane tour with Taquan Air, and I can’t recommend it enough! The views of the cliffs and waterfalls were stunning. Seriously, the narration added so much to the experience. We even saw a bear from the air! It’s a must-do if you’re in Ketchikan. Just make sure to book ahead. You won’t regret it!
Considering the floatplane tour as a birthday gift—thoughts?
I'm thinking about gifting the Misty Fjords floatplane tour to my husband for his birthday. He loves nature and adventure, but I’m worried about the cost and whether it’s worth it. Anyone done it? How was the experience? Is it easy to book last minute?
