Q&A
A: I'd recommend booking a spot a few weeks in advance, especially on weekends. The tours are quite popular among both tourists and locals, so they can fill up quickly. Late mornings are usually best since you'll catch the events happening on campus during the day, and the weather is typically nice. If you’re flexible, try a weekday – less crowded!
A: No age limit! Kids are totally welcome on the MIT Campus Guided Walking Tour. It's a great way for them to learn about science and technology while having fun. Just make sure they're old enough to keep up with the 70-minute walk. They might get a kick out of the alumni stories, too!
A: Definitely go casual! You’ll be walking for about 70 minutes, so comfy shoes are a must. I wore sneakers and it was perfect. Layering is a good idea too, since Cambridge weather can be unpredictable. You might want a light jacket if it gets breezy by the river!

Thinking of gifting the MIT Campus Tour – any thoughts?
I’m considering this tour for my brother who’s a huge tech nerd! He loves learning about the history of places and MIT is on his bucket list. I hear the student guides make it super interesting. Is the ending at the MIT COOP really worth it for souvenirs? Any tips?
Just did the MIT Campus Guided Tour – it was so cool!
I went on the tour last weekend and wow, it exceeded my expectations! The guide was super engaging and shared cool stories about the Charles River and the Strata Center. It felt like I was walking through history. The tour ended at the COOP, and I ended up buying a cute MIT mug. If you’re on the fence, just go for it!
