Our Half Day Classic Raft trip begins at the northern border of Yellowstone National Park, right where the Gardiner River converges with the mighty Yellowstone River. This trip is fun for the whole family as we run Class 1-3 (water level dependent, call our office to ask about current river conditions) and take children as young as 6! Ride the waves at Bridge Waves, Man Eater, Loonie's and Boonie's Revenge, Queen of the Waters, and the KING! Take in the breathtaking view of Devil’s Slide. Float through some flat water stretches that are great for swimming and relaxing. This trip is great for first time rafters or family groups with wide age and ability ranges. This trip is 8 miles on the river, roughly 1-1.5 hours of on the water fun depending on water levels (CFS), and roughly 2.5-3 hours door-to-door. This includes gear up, gear down, and a short drive to and from the river, no more than 15 minutes total in the bus, round trip!

Q: What's the age limit for kids? Can a 6-year-old really handle it?

A: Yes, they take kids as young as 6! The rapids are Class 1-3, so it's safe for younger kids. It's a fun adventure for families! Just make sure they’re comfortable in water and can follow basic instructions. Also, the guides are super attentive to ensure everyone is safe and having a great time.

Q: What should we wear? Is it gonna be cold?

A: You’ll want to wear swimsuits under the wetsuits they provide. It can get chilly, especially in the morning, but the wetsuits keep you warm. Also, bring a towel and change of clothes for after. Don't forget water shoes if you have them, but they do provide booties too!

Q: Is it easy to reschedule if something comes up?

A: Yes, they’re pretty flexible with rescheduling! Just give them a call as soon as you know you need to change dates. They understand life happens, especially with families. Just make sure you check their cancellation policy on their website too.

Just did the Montana Whitewater Raft Trip - WOW!

I just got back from the Half Day Raft Trip on the Yellowstone River and it was amazing! The rapids were super fun, especially the Man Eater and Boonie's Revenge. We went with my kids, ages 6 and 9, and they loved it! The guides were so friendly and made everything feel safe. We even got to swim during the flat parts which was a nice break. Totally worth it for a family day out!

Considering the Yellowstone River Raft Trip as a gift!

Thinking about getting my sister and her kids this experience. They love outdoor adventures but have never been rafting. I saw it takes kids from 6 and up, which is great! How long does it really take door-to-door? I want to plan the day right.
