Immerse yourself in one of California’s most distinctive coastal landscapes. Experience the abundance of the coast with a visit to Monterey and its world class Aquarium, the wave-filled California Coast and Carmel-by-the-Sea. After a drive from San Francisco we arrive to Monterey, home to the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, which offers an up-close look at one of the most biologically diverse marine environments in the world. The tour continues along the waterfront through the 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach. Photo stops are available at landmarks such as Lone Cypress, Bird Rock, Lovers Point, and Point Pinos. Your final stop is Carmel-by-the-Sea, a picturesque seaside town that has been a destination for artists, free-spirits and film industry types. Visitors can wander through quaint shops and enjoy baked treats or coffee from local cafés along the way. As we head back , the coast provides sweeping ocean scenery and at certain times of year, is capped off by sunset over the water.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the aquarium part of the tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the aquarium, it's super family-friendly! Kids love the exhibits, especially the sea otters and jellyfish. Just make sure to supervise little ones since it can get crowded on weekends.

Q: What should we wear for this tour? Any recommendations?

A: Dress in layers! The coast can be chilly and windy, especially near Pebble Beach. I recommend a light jacket and comfy shoes since you'll be doing some walking. Don’t forget sunscreen too, even if it’s cloudy!

Q: What if the weather's bad on the tour date? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes, you can reschedule for a different day if the weather doesn’t cooperate! Just reach out to the provider, and they’ll help you find another date. They’re pretty flexible about it, which is great.

Thinking about gifting the Monterey and Carmel tour!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this Monterey, Pebble Beach, and Carmel tour for my sister's birthday. She loves marine life and the outdoors, and I think the aquarium part will blow her mind. Has anyone done this recently? Is it worth it? Also, how’s the 17-Mile Drive? Thanks!

Anyone else think the aquarium is overrated?

I took this tour last year and while the aquarium was cool, I honestly preferred the stops along the coast. Carmel is super cute, and the shops are delightful. Just curious if anyone else felt that way? Maybe it’s just me!
