Q&A

Q: What's the age requirement for kids on this tour? Do they need a car seat?

A: Yes, Arizona state law requires kids 8 years and younger to be in a car seat or booster seat during the tour. If you're bringing younger kids, just make sure you have the right seat for them. It's a good idea to check with Great Venture Tours if they provide any seats or if you need to bring your own.

Q: Is there any chance the tour could be canceled due to weather?

A: Yes, tours can be canceled due to severe weather conditions, especially if it’s unsafe for off-roading. If that happens, Great Venture Tours usually offers rescheduling options or a full refund. It’s a good idea to call the day before to confirm the weather and see if they anticipate any issues.

Q: How much walking is involved on this tour? Is it good for older folks?

A: The tour is generally accessible for older folks since most of it is done in the vehicle. There are stops for spectacular views where you can get out and take pictures, but the walking is minimal. Just a few short walks at each viewpoint. If someone has mobility issues, let the guides know beforehand, and they can accommodate.

Thinking about gifting the Monument Valley Tour—any thoughts?

I’m considering this tour as a birthday gift for my dad who's obsessed with Western movies. He loves John Wayne films and the whole desert vibe. The idea of a 1.5 hour off-road journey with a Native American guide sounds incredible! Just wondering if it’s well worth it and if anyone has had a blast on this tour. Also, what should we wear? It gets hot out there!

Just got back from the Monument Valley Tour—amazing experience!

I just returned from the tour and wow, it did not disappoint! The off-roading was thrilling, and our guide was super knowledgeable about the Navajo culture. The lunch overlooking Monument Valley was a highlight. I took so many photos! I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique experience. Just be sure to book ahead since they need at least 4 people to run the tour.
