Q&A
A: I'd recommend wearing layers! Mornings can be a bit chilly on the water. A light jacket or sweater is a good idea, especially if you're sensitive to the wind. Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat! It's definitely windier out there, so secure anything that's loose.
A: You have a great chance to see them up close! On our trip, we saw several humpbacks really close to the boat. They were breaching and tail-slapping, it was amazing! The crew knows where to find them, so just keep your camera ready for the magic.
A: Yes, you can absolutely reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate! Sail Maui has a flexible policy for that. Just give them a call, and they’ll help you find another day when the conditions are better. It's always best to check the forecast the day before your trip.

Just got back from the morning whale watch in Maui, and wow!
I did the Morning Whale Watch from Lahaina Harbor last week, and it was unreal! The crew was super knowledgeable and made the trip really fun. We saw so many humpbacks breaching and even a mama with her calf! The light refreshments were nice too. I’d totally recommend this for anyone visiting Maui—best way to start the day.
Thinking of gifting the whale watch—any tips?
I wanna get my parents a whale-watching experience while they're in Maui. They love nature and are super excited about this! Any tips on the best time to go or what to expect on the boat? I want it to be a memorable gift.
