Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for participants in the Mount Rainier Day Hike?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but they recommend participants be at least 12 years old due to the hike's difficulty. Kids younger than that can join if they're fit and used to hiking, but definitely check with the provider if you're unsure. Just make sure they can handle the six-mile trek, as it can be strenuous!

Q: What should we wear for the hike? Any recommendations?

A: Definitely wear sturdy hiking boots — the trail can be rocky in places. Layering is key, so a moisture-wicking shirt, a fleece, and a waterproof jacket is a great combo. Also, don’t forget a hat and sunscreen, as the sun can be pretty strong up there!

Q: How flexible is the schedule? Can we reschedule if the weather's bad?

A: The provider is pretty accommodating. If the weather looks bad, they usually allow you to reschedule without a problem. Just make sure you contact them as soon as possible. They’ll work with you to find a new date that fits!
