Q&A

Q: Are there age limits for kids on this tour?

A: No specific age limits! Kids are totally welcome on the Mount Vernon & Old Town Alexandria Tour. They’ll love exploring the mansion and learning about George Washington's life. Just make sure they can handle some walking since there’s a fair bit in Old Town Alexandria.

Q: What happens if it rains? Is there a cancellation policy?

A: If it rains, the tour still goes on! Most of the Mount Vernon mansion is indoors, so you'll be covered. As for cancellations, they typically allow rescheduling with at least 24 hours notice, so you’re good there.

Q: Is parking easy near Mount Vernon? Any tips?

A: Parking is available but can get crowded, especially on weekends. I recommend arriving early to find a spot. There’s a designated parking area at Mount Vernon and a parking garage in Old Town, which makes things easier!

Thinking about gifting the Mount Vernon Tour!

Hey everyone! I’m considering giving my history-loving parents the Mount Vernon & Old Town Alexandria Private Tour for their anniversary. They love exploring historical sites. Does anyone have experiences? What do you think about the tour length and the tour guide's knowledge?

Just did the Mount Vernon & Old Town Tour - so fun!

I went on the Mount Vernon & Old Town Alexandria tour last weekend. The mansion is stunning, and the history lesson was on point! Old Town has the cutest little shops and restaurants too. Definitely recommend wearing comfy shoes since there’s quite a bit of walking. Anyone else been?
