Have you ever wondered what the city of Colorado Springs looks like from a thousand feet above? The Pikes Peak Bike Tours team will take your breath away by first transporting you up the historic and scenic Old Stage Road. From there, a gorgeous scenic bike ride will take you down Gold Camp Road. Locomotives once transported raw gold from Cripple Creek gold mine to a Colorado Springs gold refinery on this historic path. This experience offers vast panoramic views of the front range at a ride at your own pace speed. The tour is approximately 13 miles long with minimal exertion. Gold Camp Road is a leisurely descent at a 2% grade on gravel terrain with minimal obstacles and incredible tunnels blown by dynamite dating back to the late 1800s. Experience the beauty of Colorado in its entirety as you peer into the distance breathing in the crisp mountain air. Duration is expected to last 3 to 3 1/2 hours depending on the riders.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this mountain bike tour? I want to gift it to my niece who's 12.

A: There's no strict age limit, but riders should be comfortable on a bike. The tour is suitable for kids 12 and up as long as they can handle the 13-mile ride. Just make sure she wears a helmet and follows all safety instructions. They have kid-sized bikes available, so she should be good to go!

Q: What should I wear for the Gold Camp Road bike tour? Is it chilly in the morning?

A: Definitely layers! Mornings can be chilly, especially since you start higher up. I'd recommend wearing a moisture-wicking shirt, a light jacket, and some good biking shorts. Don't forget a pair of sturdy sneakers and sunglasses. You can always take off layers as you get moving.

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad? I want to get this for my boyfriend, but I don’t wanna risk it!

A: Yes! If weather conditions aren’t safe, Pikes Peak Bike Tours will work with you to reschedule. They want to make sure everyone has a great experience. Just keep an eye on the forecast and reach out to them if you need to change plans.
