Visit the top attractions in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in this full day of exploration just outside of Portland. In the morning enjoy unparalleled scenic views from Portland Women’s Forum and Vista House, then gaze in wonder at towering waterfalls like Multnomah Falls and Latourell Falls. For lunch, explore charming downtown Hood River where the historic buildings are filled with boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries, and more than 30 restaurants. In the afternoon visit one vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA where the beauty of the landscape is inextricable from its allure as a world class wine region. Wines produced from this region tend to be riper than wines from Oregon’s cooler, western regions and with higher acidity and structure than what occurs naturally in the warmer, eastern AVAs. Discover the postcard-perfect scenery and great wines of the Columbia River Gorge during this day trip from Portland.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids are welcome on this tour! The beautiful scenery and fun activities make it a great family outing. Just note that younger kids might find the wine tasting portion less interesting, but there are plenty of gorgeous views for everyone to enjoy.

Q: What should we wear for the day? Is there a lot of walking?

A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes because there’s some walking at the waterfalls. Layers are a good idea since it can be cooler in the morning and warmer later on. Also, you might want a light jacket if you plan to be outside for a while!

Q: What happens if the weather's bad? Do they cancel?

A: They do go rain or shine, but if the weather is severe (like heavy storms), they might reschedule. You can usually check in advance and see if there are any alerts. Just make sure to have a flexible schedule!

Thinking about gifting the Mt Hood Waterfalls and Wine Tour! Who's done it?

Hey everyone! I'm considering this tour as a birthday gift for my best friend. The waterfalls and the wine sound perfect for her. I really love that it leaves from Portland and includes a local guide. Has anyone done it? Is it worth it?
