Q&A

Q: What's the best time to go if we want to see the stargazing part of the tour?

A: If you want to catch the stargazing, I'd recommend going between May 26 and August 10 since the ceremony starts at 9 PM and it gets dark enough afterward. After that, the ceremony starts at 8 PM, so you might miss some of the stargazing if you go too late. Just check the weather beforehand because clouds can really mess with your view!

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on this tour?

A: No specific age limits! It's family-friendly, so kids are absolutely welcome. Just keep in mind that the tour can be a bit lengthy, about 5 hours, so younger kids may need to be entertained during the drive. But the stargazing part is usually a hit with them!

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad? What’s the policy?

A: Yes! They have a flexible rescheduling policy due to weather. If it looks like rain or heavy clouds, just contact them, and they’ll work with you to find another time. Just make sure to give them enough notice, and keep an eye on the forecast!

Just got back from the Mt Rushmore Night Tour – WOW!

I just did the Mt Rushmore Night Ceremony and Tour last week, and it was incredible! The lighting ceremony was really moving, and seeing the monument at night was something else. We drove through the Iron Mountain Tunnels in one of those open-top vehicles, and it was super fun. The starry sky afterwards was the cherry on top! Totally worth it for anyone looking to experience nature and history together.

Thinking of gifting the Mt Rushmore night tour – any advice?

I’m considering getting this tour for my parents as an anniversary gift. They love nature but aren’t really into strenuous activities. Do you think this tour is a good fit? I heard the views are great and it’s not too physically demanding.
