Q&A
A: You can take public transit like Muni or BART to get close to the pick-up point in San Francisco. Most tours start near Fisherman’s Wharf, so if you’re in the area, it’s just a short walk. Driving can be tricky due to parking, but there are parking garages nearby if you go that route. Just plan to arrive a little early to find your way!
A: Yes, kids are welcome on the tour! There’s no strict age limit, but keep in mind it’s about a 1.5-hour hike through the woods, so it's best for kids who can walk comfortably for that duration. The tour guide is great with families, and the scenery is super engaging for kids. Just make sure they're prepared for some walking!
A: Wear comfortable shoes, preferably hiking boots or sturdy sneakers because the paths can be uneven. If it rained recently, it might be a bit muddy, so avoid sandals. Dress in layers since it can get chilly in the woods but warm up once you’re out. A light jacket is a good idea!

Just went on the Muir Woods & Sausalito tour - amazing views!
I just did the Muir Woods & Sausalito tour last weekend, and I can’t stop thinking about it! The Golden Gate Bridge views were breathtaking, and walking among those massive trees is something else. The time in Sausalito was nice too, we grabbed some ice cream and just soaked in the scenery. FYI, ferry tickets back to SF are extra, so plan ahead for that. So glad I did this for a little getaway!
Considering gifting the Muir Woods tour - any tips?
I’m thinking of getting the Muir Woods & Sausalito tour for my partner’s birthday. We’ve never been to California, but I’ve heard such great things about the redwoods! Any tips on what to expect or if I should plan extra activities in Sausalito?
