Q&A
A: I'd recommend going early in the morning, especially on weekends. Muir Woods can get crowded, and the early hours let you enjoy the tranquility of the forest. Plus, you can hop on the bus right after and beat the lunch crowd in Sausalito. If you're visiting in peak summer, try to avoid the hottest part of the day for both the woods and the city tour!
A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids younger than 5 might get a bit restless on the bus. The hike in Muir Woods is also pretty manageable for most kids, and they’ll love seeing the giant redwoods! It’s a great family outing; just ensure everyone wears comfy shoes, especially for hiking.
A: Parking can be tricky in San Francisco, especially near the tourist spots. If you're driving, use a parking app to find nearby lots. For Muir Woods, there’s limited parking, so it’s better to take public transport or use the hop-on hop-off bus. Just plan accordingly!

Thinking of gifting the Muir Woods & Sausalito Tour — any tips?
I’m looking to get this tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves nature and hasn’t seen the redwoods yet! Is it worth the money? How long should we plan to spend in Muir Woods vs. Sausalito? I want to make this a memorable day for her!
Just did the Muir Woods & Sausalito Tour — amazing experience!
I went on the tour last week and it was incredible! The redwoods are just majestic. I loved hopping on and off the bus to see all the sights around San Francisco. The views from the Golden Gate were stunning! Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting. Just make sure you wear good hiking shoes!
