With over 85,000 it would take over a week to look at every piece of art for just 10 seconds across the top three art museums in DC. Very few people have that time. So we found the pieces that you cannot leave without seeing and put them all on one tour! At the National Gallery of Art we show statues by Degas and Rodin, explore the works of renown Renaissance artists such as Raphael, see the only Da Vinci in the Western Hemisphere. With your guide you will find hidden among the maze of galleries the works of Monet, Vermeer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Picasso, Whistler, Dali, and Andy Warhol. Then at the National Portrait Gallery and American Art museums we explore the iconic "America's Presidents" exhibit, featuring portraits of leaders who shaped the nation. As we walk through the halls where President Lincoln celebrated his second inauguration we see world renown art using creative materials and styles as well as portraits found on American currency.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour?

A: There’s no specific age limit, but I’d recommend it for kids 10 and up. The tour covers a lot of art history, and younger ones might not enjoy it as much. They do have bottled water and cold wet towels, which is nice in summer! You might want to check if they can be quiet and follow along.

Q: If the weather’s bad, do they cancel the tour?

A: No worries about the weather! They provide rain ponchos, so you can still enjoy everything. If there are severe weather warnings, they might reschedule, but that’s rare. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Q: What's the best time to book this tour for a first-time visitor to DC?

A: I'd suggest booking it during spring or early fall. The weather’s perfect for walking around DC! Plus, you’ll avoid the summer crowds. Reserve a morning tour if you can, so you have the rest of the day to explore more sights.

Considering the National Gallery Tour as a gift for my art-loving friend!

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about getting the National Gallery of Art and Portrait Gallery Tour for my friend’s birthday. She's super into art, but I’m kinda nervous about picking the right time. Any tips on when to book? Also, what’s the overall vibe of the tour? I want her to really enjoy it!

Just did the National Gallery tour and it was incredible!

Wow, just got back from the National Gallery of Art Tour and I can't recommend it enough! Our guide was so knowledgeable and showed us all the highlights like that Da Vinci! If you're in DC, you have to try this. They even give you bottled water and cold towels, which is a lifesaver in the summer heat!
