Q&A

Q: Are there age restrictions for this guided tour?

A: There aren't any strict age restrictions for the tour, but it’s generally suitable for kids ages 10 and up, as they’ll get the most from the history and stories. Younger kids are welcome too, but keep in mind it’s a lot of walking and might be tough for them. Just make sure to check with the tour provider if you have a specific age in mind.

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of our tour?

A: They typically run tours rain or shine because most of the sites are outdoors. However, if there's severe weather, they may reschedule or cancel. You’ll want to check the weather forecast beforehand and bring an umbrella if it looks iffy. The guide usually has a plan B for indoor activities if needed.

Q: Is parking around the National Mall easy to find?

A: Parking can be a challenge near the National Mall, especially during peak tourist season. There are some garages nearby but they can fill up quickly. I’d recommend using public transport if possible. The Metro is pretty easy and goes right to Smithsonian station, which is near where the tour starts.

Thinking of gifting the National Mall tour! Any tips?

I’m looking at this guided tour with the cherry blossoms for my parents’ anniversary. They love history and have never been to DC. Does anyone know how long the tour typically lasts? Also, are the guides pretty informative? I want it to be a great experience for them!

Just did the National Mall tour, and it was AMAZING!

I went on this tour last week, and wow, I can’t recommend it enough! The cherry blossoms were beautiful, and the guide was super knowledgeable. Stopping at all the major sites like the Lincoln Memorial was a highlight for me. Bonus: getting to climb the Washington Monument was the cherry on top! Definitely worth the price.
