Q&A
A: There aren't any strict age restrictions for the tour, but it's best suited for kids 8 and up, as they can better appreciate the wildlife and the educational aspect of the tour. Kids under 8 might find it a bit long. Just keep in mind that the environment can be a bit rugged, so if you're bringing younger children, make sure they can handle some outdoor walking.
A: Definitely wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing since you’ll be outdoors for almost two hours. Closed-toe shoes are a must because you'll be on varied terrain. A hat and sunscreen are great ideas if it’s sunny, and a light jacket can be helpful if you take the 6 PM tour and it gets breezy. Also, don't forget bug spray!
A: The 10 AM and 2 PM tours tend to be the best for seeing wildlife, especially the songbirds and alligators. Mornings are great for bird activity before it gets too hot, and the afternoon is when alligators are usually sunning themselves. The evening tour can still be fun, but some wildlife might be less active as the sun goes down.

Just did the Nature and Wildlife Tour in New Orleans!
I recently went on the Nature and Wildlife Tour, and it was amazing! The guides were super knowledgeable about the coastal restoration efforts and made it really engaging. We spotted several alligators and even some migratory birds! It was nice that they provided bird identification pamphlets, which came in handy. I’d recommend going in the morning for better wildlife action.
Thinking of gifting the Nature and Wildlife Tour!
I'm considering gifting the Nature and Wildlife Tour to my parents who love nature. The price is definitely right (free!) but I’m worried about how well they can handle the 1 hour 45-minute duration. Anyone have thoughts on that? Also, how’s the parking situation?
