Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the food tour and cooking class?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids should be at least 10 to enjoy the class and understand the cooking demos. It's definitely family-friendly, and I saw a couple of families with teens during my visit! Just make sure they’re able to walk around the French Quarter for a bit since the tour involves some walking.

Q: If weather is bad, can we reschedule the cooking class?

A: Yes, they’re pretty flexible with rescheduling if the weather doesn’t cooperate. They’ll usually reach out to you beforehand if they anticipate issues, but it’s always good to check directly with Destination Kitchen about their policy.

Q: What’s the walking pace like? I’m not in great shape.

A: The pace is really laid-back! It’s a food tour, after all, so there's plenty of stops to enjoy the sights and snacks. I’m not super fit, and I managed just fine. They go slow enough for everyone to keep up, and there are breaks to sit and eat too.

Thinking of gifting the New Orleans Food Tour for my in-laws!

I really want to surprise my in-laws with something fun, and this New Orleans food walking tour seems perfect! They love food and history. Has anyone done this yet? What are your thoughts on the cooking class part? Should I be worried about them being picky eaters with the menu? I believe it’s around $89 per person, which is reasonable for what you get, right?

Just did the food tour and it was amazing!

I just got back from the small-group food walking tour in New Orleans with Destination Kitchen, and wow, it was such a treat! We learned to make gumbo and jambalaya, and I’m definitely going to try those recipes at home. The atmosphere was super friendly, and the food stops were awesome. The beer pairing was a nice touch too! Highly recommend!
