Q&A
A: You’ll want to wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little wet or muddy. I'd recommend closed-toe shoes or sandals that are easy to clean. A hat and sunglasses can be helpful too, since it gets sunny out there on the water! Just keep in mind that it can get humid, so breathable fabrics are best.
A: Kids are welcome on the tour! There’s no strict age limit, but keep in mind that children under 16 are required to wear life jackets, which are provided. It’s a fun experience for kids, especially if they love animals and nature. Just ensure they can sit still for a couple of hours!
A: You’ll get picked up right from downtown New Orleans, which is super convenient! The transportation is included in the ticket price. Just make sure to check the pickup times. It’s a short ride to the swamp, and the guides are very friendly and informative on the way there. You won’t have to worry about parking!

Just did the swamp tour and wow, what an experience!
I went on the New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour last weekend and it was AMAZING! The guide was super knowledgeable and we got to see all kinds of wildlife like alligators and turtles. The Cajun village we stopped at was fascinating too. They say wildlife sightings aren't guaranteed, but we lucked out! I think this would make a great gift for my parents next time they visit. 10/10 recommend!
Considering this swamp tour as a gift but need more info!
Hey everyone! I’m looking at the New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour for my friend's birthday. I love that it includes transportation, but how's the boat ride? Is it smooth or bumpy? Also, what if it rains? Any thoughts or experiences?
