Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the subway mosaic art tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit for the tour, but it's best suited for teens and adults who can comfortably walk through the subway system. Younger kids might get a bit restless, and the tour does involve some standing and walking. Just be ready for some subway rides and a bit of a hike between mosaics!

Q: What should I wear for the subway mosaic tour? Any tips?

A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes! You'll be walking a lot and going up and down stairs in the subway. Dress in layers since it can get hot underground but might be cooler above ground. Also, consider a light rain jacket if rain is in the forecast, as the tour goes rain or shine.

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of the subway tour?

A: The tour goes on rain or shine! Since you'll be mostly underground, the rain won't impact the experience much. Just be sure to dress appropriately, as mentioned earlier. If there's a severe weather warning, they might reschedule, but usually, a bit of rain won’t stop the fun.

Just did the NYC Subway Mosaic Tour – Amazing!

I just got back from the subway mosaic art tour in Manhattan with Cathleen Newsham, and it was totally worth it! We saw so many incredible mosaics, and Cathleen explained the history and process behind each one. Met at Grand Central, and then we hopped on the subway to see about 10 different installations! Can’t believe how much art is hidden underground. Highly recommend for anyone who loves art or NYC!

Considering the Subway Mosaic Art Tour as a Gift!

I’m thinking of getting the subway mosaic art tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves art and NYC, but I’m a bit worried if it’ll be too tiring. How physically demanding is it? Any advice?
