Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for the whale watching cruise?

A: Hey Cathy! There isn't a strict weight limit, but they do recommend you check with Newport Landing if you have any concerns. The boat is pretty spacious, and generally accommodates everyone comfortably. Just make sure to reserve your tickets in advance, especially during peak season!

Q: What should I wear on the whale watching cruise? Is it cold out there?

A: Definitely recommend layers! It can get chilly on the water, especially if you're up on the upper deck. A light jacket and maybe a hat would be perfect. And don't forget sunscreen because it can get sunny out there too!

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Yes, you can! Newport Landing allows rescheduling due to weather issues. Just give them a call, and they'll help you find another time. They keep a close eye on conditions, so you won’t be stuck out there in rough seas.

Just booked the Newport Beach Whale Watching Cruise!

I’m so excited! I just booked the whale watching cruise for next weekend. It’s a 2.5-hour trip with Newport Landing. I've heard the views from the double-decker catamaran are amazing, plus they have a 96% success rate for spotting whales. Fingers crossed we see a blue whale! Anyone else gone on this trip recently? Any tips?

Thinking about gifting the whale watching cruise!

I’m considering getting this whale watching cruise for my parents' anniversary. They love the ocean and I think it’d be a great surprise! Has anyone done it? What was included? It's about $75 per person, right? I'm just worried about sea sickness... any tips?
