Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age for this hike? I'm thinking of gifting it to my daughter who's 13.

A: Yes, the minimum age for participants is 14. It’s meant to be a more intimate experience, and younger kids might have a tougher time with the night hike. You might consider waiting a year or finding another nature experience for her.

Q: What should we wear for the Nighttime Forest Firefly Hike? Any special recommendations?

A: Closed-toe shoes are a must for this hike. It’s also good to wear layers since it can get chilly in the mountains at night. I'd recommend bringing a light jacket and maybe some bug spray. You want to be comfy while watching the fireflies!

Q: What happens if it rains during the scheduled hike?

A: If weather conditions aren't safe, they might cancel the hike. They usually notify participants in advance. It's good to stay flexible and keep an eye on the forecast. If they do need to cancel, you'll get a chance to reschedule or get a refund.

Just went on the Nighttime Firefly Hike in Asheville! Here’s my recap!

I finally did the Nighttime Forest Firefly Hike last weekend, and it was AMAZING! We saw a few fireflies, but the highlight was learning about the Blue Ghost fireflies. The guide was super knowledgeable, and it felt like a real adventure in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hike was easy enough for me and my friend who aren’t super fit. I totally recommend this as a unique gift idea!

Considering gifting the Nighttime Firefly Hike but have some questions!

Thinking about getting this experience for my wife’s birthday. She loves nature and hiking but worries about fitness levels. Is this hike really easy? And can I join too or is it just for one person? Any tips would be super helpful!
