Q&A

Q: What's the best time of year to go on the North End Salmon Charter?

A: The peak season for salmon fishing in Ketchikan is typically from late June through early September. During this time, you're most likely to catch a variety of salmon species. However, if you want to enjoy the views without the crowds, late July can be a great choice! Just be sure to check availability as it can fill up quickly.

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on the North End Salmon Charter?

A: There are no strict age limits for the charter, but it's recommended that kids be at least 6 years old due to safety and equipment considerations. It's a family-friendly experience, so feel free to bring along your young ones, just be sure they can follow instructions and are comfortable on a boat!

Q: What should I wear for the North End Salmon Charter? Is it cold out there?

A: Layering is key! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. I'd recommend wearing a waterproof jacket and sturdy shoes since the deck can get slippery. Also, don't forget a hat and sunscreen—you're going to be out in the sun for a bit!

Just got back from the North End Salmon Charter—what an experience!

I took the North End Salmon Charter last week while visiting Ketchikan, and it was awesome! The crew was super helpful, and we ended up reeling in a couple of big salmon. Seriously, the views were breathtaking. Definitely recommend bringing your camera! I'm thinking about gifting this to my dad for his birthday. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Considering the North End Salmon Charter for a gift!

I’m looking at getting my brother the North End Salmon Charter for his birthday. He loves fishing, but he’s never done it in Alaska! I’m a bit worried about the weather and if they reschedule due to high winds or rain. Any advice?
