The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the airboat tour? My kids are 8 and 10.

A: There isn't a strict age limit for the airboat tour, but kids need to be at least 5 years old to join. Your 8 and 10-year-olds should be fine! Just keep in mind that it can get pretty loud, so ear protection is a good idea. They’ll love the speed and the wildlife!

Q: What should I wear for the swamp tour? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes. The swamp can be muddy, especially if it rains, so no flip flops! Also, a light jacket might be good in case it gets breezy on the airboat. Sunglasses and sunscreen are also a must since you'll be out in the sun.

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather looks bad?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if weather conditions are poor. Just make sure to check with the provider at least 24 hours in advance. They’re usually pretty accommodating about changes due to weather. You can call them or check their website for more details.

Just got back from the Oak Alley and airboat tour!

OMG, the Oak Alley Plantation is beautiful! Those oak trees are just as stunning as in the pictures, and the history is fascinating. The airboat tour was a total blast. We saw a ton of alligators and even a few herons. I definitely recommend it as a gift experience, especially for nature lovers or anyone visiting New Orleans. Just prepare for the noise on the boat!

Considering gifting the Oak Alley & airboat combo!

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting this as a gift for my parents' anniversary. They love history and the outdoors. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? What do you think about the logistics, like parking and pick-up?
