I provide bottled water, a snack bar and a clean backpack for everyone. For centuries members of the Cahuilla tribe hiked to these hill tops that overlook the Coachella Valley to send smoke signals to nearby tribes that they traded with. The trails are unnamed, so they're mostly known & used by locals & don't get nearly as busy as the other easy to find hiking trails in Palm Springs during the busy winter/spring tourism season, so it's a much more peaceful hiking area. These are some of the best Palm Springs hiking trails with lots of scenic views of the Coachella Valley & a hike into a hidden Palm tree oasis. I know these trails well & the most scenic viewpoints along the way. You'll see desert vegetation close up & views of the desert valley floor all the way up to beautiful nearby mountain peaks, while getting in some fantastic exercise. Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this hike? I want to take my 8-year-old niece.

A: There's no strict age limit, but I’d recommend this for kids around 10 and up if they’re active. The trails can be a bit rough in places, but if your niece is adventurous and can handle some walking, she should be fine! Just make sure to bring good shoes and some extra snacks. The views are worth it!

Q: What's the best time of year to do this hike? I'm planning a trip in March.

A: March is actually a great time! The weather is usually perfect for hiking—not too hot. You’ll definitely want to get out early in the morning to enjoy the cooler temps and see the sunrise over the mountains. Just pack layers in case it gets windy at the top!

Q: How strenuous is this hike? I'm not in the best shape.

A: The hike is moderate for most people. There are some steep parts, but they’re not too long. If you take it slow and take breaks, you should do just fine! It’s all about enjoying the views anyway. Just stay hydrated and pace yourself.

Thinking of gifting the Palm Springs hike—anyone done it?

I’m considering this hike for my dad’s birthday. He loves nature and I've heard the views are amazing! Can anyone share their experiences? I just want to make sure it’s worth it. Also, what's the best time to go? Thanks!

Just finished the Palm Springs Oasis hike—so worth it!

I just got back from this hike and wow, it was incredible! The hidden palm oasis was such a nice surprise. The guide was super knowledgeable, and I loved how we saw parts of the desert that aren't crowded at all. If you’re thinking about it as a gift, your recipient will love it!
