Travel back in time to the 1700's on this Self-Guided Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt! Guests will start out with Free Access to the Fireproof Museum and receive instructions on how to "escape" the British occupation of Charleston. After receiving the instruction packet, guests will follow the footsteps of a Patriot Spy trying to escape the city and have to find a multitude of hidden gems including historic structures, secret alleyways, and artifacts. All these sites are directly related to the American Revolution as it would affect Charleston specifically and even find out how certain events would have repercussions for other colonies. This is the ONLY historically accurate scavenger hunt designed by three area historians related to the American Revolution. *As a moderately difficult escape, we recommended for adults only. We do have a child friendly Pirate Escape Scavenger hunt as well. Good luck Patriots as you embark on this historic one of a kind adventure in Charleston.

Q&A

Q: Is this scavenger hunt suitable for kids? Can I bring my 10-year-old?

A: The Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt is designed for adults, and while it’s historically rich, it might not hold the attention of younger kids. They do have a Pirate Escape scavenger hunt that's more child-friendly if you're looking for something for your 10-year-old. Definitely check that one out instead!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather's really bad, you can reach out to Native Charleston Tours to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible with that. I’ve seen people get a different date without any hassle!

Q: Do you need to be super fit for this scavenger hunt?

A: You don’t need to be a marathon runner, but a moderate level of fitness helps since you’ll be walking a lot. The hunt involves some exploration through Charleston, which can include stairs and uneven surfaces. Just wear comfy shoes and you’ll be good to go!

Just did the Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt in Charleston! So much fun!

I took my friends to the Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt last weekend, and wow, it was incredible! We started at the Fireproof Museum (which is free, by the way) and got our instructions to ‘escape’ the British. It was fascinating to explore historic spots and find hidden gems. Definitely felt like I was in a history movie! Just a heads up, comfy shoes are a must, we walked a lot! If you’re in Charleston, I highly recommend this experience!

Thinking of gifting the Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt!

I’m considering this scavenger hunt as a gift for my history-loving brother. He’s really into the American Revolution. Has anyone tried it? What was your favorite part? Would he enjoy this or should I look for something else? Just want it to be a special surprise!
