Philadelphia is notable for its rich history, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed) and other American Revolutionary sites. Helicopter charters are a convenient and safe alternative to the 3-hour drive, especially if you are looking to make the most of your time. Your private helicopter will conveniently depart from your preferred Manhattan heliport and land at Penn's Landing or Philadelphia International Airport, only a short drive from the most popular attractions. (Penn's Landing available on weekdays only.) Upon arrival in Philadelphia you will have up to 4-5 hours to explore, visit historic sites and have lunch while your helicopter waits. End the day with a smooth helicopter flight back to Manhattan and quick skyline tour before landing. Flight time approximately 40-45 minutes each way. Meal and attraction costs and ground transportation costs in Philadelphia are not included in the price of this experience.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this helicopter tour? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can definitely join! There’s no strict age limit, but passengers under 18 will need a parent or guardian present. Just keep in mind that all passengers should be able to wear the headphones provided during the flight. It’s a super fun experience for families!

Q: What happens if the weather's bad? Will they reschedule the flight?

A: Absolutely! If the weather isn’t suitable for flying, the company will usually offer to reschedule your trip. They'll give you a heads up the day before, so make sure to check your email. You’ll want to have some flexibility in your schedule just in case!

Q: What should we wear for the helicopter ride? Is it chilly up there?

A: Good question! It can get a bit chilly in the air, so layering is key. Bring a light jacket or sweater, especially if you’re taking the trip in the fall or winter. Also, wear closed-toed shoes—flip-flops aren’t the best idea for safety reasons.

Considering the helicopter day trip to Philadelphia — any tips?

I’m thinking about booking the Philadelphia Day Trip from Manhattan by Helicopter for my boyfriend's birthday. He loves history and the idea of flying over the city sounds amazing! I saw you get about 4-5 hours in Philly, which seems like enough time to see Independence Hall and grab a cheesesteak. Can anyone share their experiences or tips? What did you enjoy most?

Just did the helicopter experience! Here’s my take.

OMG, we just finished the trip and it was mind-blowing! The helicopter ride was smooth and the views were incredible! Landing at Penn's Landing was so convenient. We hit up the Liberty Bell and had lunch at a cute cafe nearby. Just a tip: make sure to get your lunch plans sorted out ahead of time during busy hours. Can’t recommend this enough for a day trip!
